ProbitSite is a stand-alone, DALI-2 certified measuring device for diagnosing and commissioning DALI installations. It analyses control gear, short addresses, telegrams and the electrical signal quality directly on the DALI bus, exposing communication errors, address conflicts, wiring problems and unstable signal levels, in new and already running installations alike.
ProbitScan reads every DALI device on the bus without touching the existing configuration.

Why the physical DALI layer is decisive
DALI faults do not only originate in the logical protocol. Voltage levels, signal edges, timing, wiring and bus load all influence communication. ProbitSite therefore analyses both the logical communication and the physical quality of the DALI signal.
ProbitSite measures more than logical DALI telegrams: it evaluates signal quality and bit timing on the physical layer. This reveals electrical problems that can stay undetected in a purely logical protocol analysis. The integrated DALI bus power supply allows diagnosis and commissioning even when no controller or external bus power supply is installed yet.
ProbitConnect: built-in DALI bus power supply (190–250 mA) with automatic activation on demand. It detects automatically whether the line already has a bus power supply and holds back if one is present, so there is no double supply. When no DALI bus voltage is present, it switches its own supply on automatically. This makes ProbitSite usable both in installations that already have a supply and before a controller is installed.
ProbitSite compared to a USB DALI dongle
Many simple USB DALI interfaces focus on addressing and logical communication. ProbitSite additionally analyses the electrical and physical quality of the DALI signal.

Manage DALI short addresses directly on site
In Expert Mode, technicians can assign, change or delete DALI short addresses directly on site, including addressing a replacement control gear without a laptop.

From Firmware V1.5, DALI short addresses can be set, changed and deleted directly on the handheld. Expert Mode is unlocked once from the Windows App. A cog icon on the display shows that the write functions are active.

Note: changing short addresses can affect the assignment in an existing control system. Save a complete scan beforehand and agree the change with the responsible system integrator.

DALI scans can be imported over USB into the ProbitSite Windows App, reviewed and organised by project. The measurement data turns into professional, vendor-independent test reports for documentation and handover.
