The NimbitDesk “Chekov” is the ideal workplace sensor for optimizing your office use. It reliably detects, transmits and displays occupancy information. We base our wireless desk sensor for occupancy detection on our IoT connectivity platform. This means we support both Wifi and one Bluetooth-based standard such as Casambi® or Bluerange®. This enables the sensor to connect to desk booking software tools such as the LIZ Booker.
The sensor is mounted under the table and supplied with power via USB. In addition, we make it possible to control the integrated LED independently of the presence status to signal information such as occupied, free or reserved. During commissioning, we use the LED to guide you through the process. For example, we signal when the sensor has lost the connection to the router or the cloud.
Most importantly, this dual connectivity enables easy commissioning and unlimited scalability. With the Wifi interface, you can integrate the Chekov workplace sensor into any existing network in seconds using the Nimbit Toolbox app (available in the App Store and Google Play Store). On the other hand, the Bluetooth interface offers all the advantages of mesh technology such as room coverage and expansion.
For the Bluetooth part, the implemented Bluerange® technology offers highest performance not only for data transmission, but also for maintenance functions such as grouped over-the-air firmware updates and cloud access.
By using the MQTT protocol for structured data exchange, the platform enables the direct transmission of telemetry data to any cloud-based desk booking software and, conversely, the display of information on the workplace sensor.
Nimbit is the new IoT product line from Lichtvision alongside the established Probit DALI product line. Consequently, the wireless desk sensor NimbitDesk “Chekov” is the first product of the Nimbit family.
